Who is Constance Wu? The actress that’s about to take over Hollywood

Originally published on AOL.com

You might not know who Constance Wu is yet, but the Virginia-born actress and daughter of Taiwanese immigrants is about to be the next big thing in Hollywood.

Wu got her big break playing Kathy on a 2012 web series called “EastSiders” at 30-years-old. The critically-acclaimed series earned her two Indie Series Award nominations. She then went on to be cast as Jessica Huang in the ABC hit show “Fresh Off The Boat” and landed on the annual Time 100 influential list just two years later.

The 36-year-old actress is now about to be the star in the upcoming film “Crazy Rich Asians,” which marks Hollywood’s first all-Asian cast film in 25 years. The Warner Bros. film, directed by Jon M. Chu, is expected to seek mainstream success which means a breakthrough role for Wu.

Constance Wu first read the best-selling novel “Crazy Rich Asians,” when she was working as an actress in L.A.

“A former agent of mine who is still a dear friend, he thought that this book was sort of taking over. He was like, ‘I think you should read this book. I think if they make a movie of this, there’s a part for you.’ And back then, I’m still a waitress and stuff, so I’m reading it, and I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, I could play this part, but I don’t know how to produce or any option or any kind of thing like that.’ So I was like, ‘Ok cool, great book. And when they do — if they do make something — I would love to audition for it.’” Wu told WWD in a recent profile of the actress.

The premiere of “Crazy Rich Asians” took place last night the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Wu stunned on the red carpet wearing a Ralph and Russo couture gown from the Spring’17 collection paired with Sophia Webster sandals and was draped in Lorrain Schwartz jewelry, styled by Micaela Erlanger)

Not only is Constance Wu about to be a big name in Hollywood but we have a feeling she’s about to become a fashion show front-row regular.

The 55-year-old New Yorker brought a preppy and innocent perspective into New York street style. While she walked away from her namesake label back in 2006, she went on to launch the luxury footwear brand called Frances Valentine.

From Kate and Pippa Middleton constantly wearing her easy-breezy printed dresses to Taylor Swift and Leighton Meester accessorizing with a Kate Spade purse, her most memorable designs date back to the early ’90s.

Khloe K. and Emma Grede launch Good American activewear – and it’s already breaking the internet

Originally published on AOL.com

If you don’t already know, Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede’s all-inclusive denim line, Good American, had the most successful denim launch of all time, bringing in $1 million in just 24 hours.

Two years later, the duo is taking their talents to a whole new space of activewear. The launch doesn’t come as a surprise since Khloe has rooted her public image in her wildly-impressive fitness journey over the years. The 22-piece collection (retailing all under $150) is designed for women of every size. The sizes range from XS-4XL.

AOL caught up with Grede (whose husband founded FRAME Denim) to discuss the exciting new venture and what she has learned from Khloe since they began working together.

“Moving into activewear was a natural next step for Good American. When we think about new categories, our biggest priority is to always provide women with wardrobe staples, giving them options to get them through their busy daily lives and that makes them look and feel their best.” Emma said.

At the forefront of the campaign, you can find former Olympians Tara Lipinski and Stephanie Rice alongside models Precious Lee and Candice Huffine.

When I asked Emma how she chooses their #GoodSquad she explained, “We’re always looking for women that are confident, stand up for their beliefs and embrace their beauty from within. The fashion industry is notorious for catering to a specific shape and size, and we are here to change that! The #GoodSquad is a group of real, confident and badass women who celebrate and inspire our commitment to inclusivity, diversity body positivity and female empowerment.”

On what she’s learned from Khloe: “Khloe has taught me to stick to a routine! She’s so passionate about fitness which is inspiring.”

This is the number one color for summer everyone on Instagram will be wearing

Originally published on AOL.com

Fashion is forever changing and keeping up with what is of the moment is a daunting task for most. One year, it’s super flared jeans that hide your shoes, the next it’s all about the cropped hem. Yesterday, it was all about the ‘Olsen’ oversized silhouette and today people want structure and fit. As Heidi Klum says “one day you’re in, the next day you’re out”.

Last summer, we couldn’t shop online or scroll through our Instagram feeds without seeing millennial pink. Well, for those of you who are officially over millennial pink, lavender is slowly making its way into our closets and dethroning the blushed-tone hue.

Thanks to Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors, and Baja East, the Spring/Summer’18 runways are giving us a glimpse of this pretty pastel purple. Ahead, we’ve round up our favorite lavender styles in the gallery below to help build up your warm weathered wardrobe.
